Real People. Real Stories.

Documentary storytelling that brings personality, expertise, and creative work to life.

From contemporary artists to an engineer who helped explore the deepest place on Earth, these projects are built around real people and their stories. I approach documentary work with the same combination of curiosity, visual storytelling, and hands-on production that I bring to motion and commercial projects.

Into the Deep

Telling an extraordinary story with the footage that was available.

When an Opto 22 applications engineer returned from James Cameron's historic expedition to the Mariana Trench, I produced a short documentary about his experience. With limited production resources, I built the story largely around footage he had captured himself on a Flip phone, combining it with interviews, photography, motion graphics, editing, and sound design to create a compelling portrait of an extraordinary experience.

Artists in Their Own Words

Portraits of artists, their practices, and the ideas behind their work.

While working with Lux Art Institute (now Institute of Contemporary Art San Diego North), I produced a series of artist profile documentaries exploring the people and creative practices behind the exhibitions. The films focus on conversation and observation, allowing the artists to explain their work in their own words while giving the viewer an intimate look at their studios and creative processes.

Curiosity Drives the Story.

Good documentary work starts with listening—and asking better questions.

Documentary filmmaking requires more than knowing how to operate a camera. It means becoming curious about a subject, understanding what matters to the people involved, and finding the story within the material. Whether I'm documenting an artist's creative practice or an engineer's experience at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, I bring research, visual storytelling, and a hands-on approach to every stage of production.
